How To Look Good on a Dance Floor

The really tried and tested fun way to spend weekends is by having a good time with friends on the dance floor. The dance floor can be your friend or foe, depending on the dispositions that you have for dancing. Looking good on a dance floor involves many aspects, and to master them all is not really an impossible feat.

People often gaze in admiration at a party person who can turn things around with the right dance moves. They may seem to be like the chosen few, but you can be one of them if you put some effort into it.

The dance floor is the place where you can open yourself up to a lot of fun possibilities. If you really want to have a memorable time at your party, you ought to make a lasting impression with your dance floor moves. How do you go about this? Here are some of the steps:

1. Take dance lessons. This is something that might cost you, but when you are able to dance to any tune, you will find that dancing is really a skill worth having. Dance lessons of hip hop, jazz and other contemporary genres help prepare you for the electronic beats and DJ mixes popular in most dance floors.
2. Get your inner groove or rhythm. You cannot have good dance moves if you are not familiar with beats or how your body moves against the beat. Your inner groove or rhythm is what helps you move freely and dance to any upbeat song.
3. Be flexible. Do whatever you can to be as flexible as possible so that you are not hindered from making moves. Stretching, yoga and Pilates are all good forms of exercise that can help promote flexibility. Even Hollywood stars attest to the power of these flexibility building practices.
# Exercise and endure. Endurance jogging once a week can also affect your stamina. Dancing is a form of performance, and you cannot perform unless you are able to endure talking with friends and having fun on the dance floor at the same time.
# Smile a lot and have a good time. The genuine way to look hot is by truly enjoying what you are doing. Smile a lot so that you will not seem arrogant or intimidating especially to the interesting people you want to meet there.
# Dress comfortably and fashionably. Comfortable outfits for dancing that are also stylish are the best bet for creating a favorable impression on the dance floor. If you are not as good with your dancing skills as you would want, you are at least dressed well for the occasion and that can sometimes more than make up for the cartwheels you did not do.
# Have a staple song. Get a dance that you consistently practice and groove to. When you can, request for that song and confidently saunter your way into the spotlight.
# Get a dance partner who can groove with you. A person who has a matching dancing style as yours can complement your moves properly and help you be more at ease with your dancing.
