How to Do The Cha Cha Slide Dance
Cha Cha slide is a line dance in which a group of people dance in one or more lines performing repeated sequence of steps. All the dancers face the leader, they follow his directions and execute the steps at the same time. Start your practice with the following cha cha slide dance moves, which will help you to warm up and get in the groove.
To the Left and the Right
- Take a step to the left by crossing your right leg behind your left.
- Now take the second step to the left by letting the right leg touch the side of your left.
- Take couple of steps back, by moving your right leg and then your left.
- Don't forget to follow the beats and have fun while doing the steps.
- Start hopping and follow it by raising and stomping with your right foot first and then left foot again.
- When there is a call like "Cha Cha now ya'll" step with your right foot over the left, follow it by a step back with the left foot first and then your right foot.
- Take a slight turn on your left side and then take one step to the right by simultaneously move your left foot with the right. Follow the same procedure by turning slightly to the right side.
- Now finish the step with your left foot touching your right foot and bringing them together, side by side.
- Clap sixteen times in rhythm with the music in the beginning.
- When you hear the words 'Kriss Kross', you must jump twice.
- Cross your left leg over your right leg and jump.
- Now cross your right leg over your left and jump again.
- Step to the left by sliding your right foot to touch your left.
- Now step to the left by sliding your left foot to touch your left.
- End the sequence with a limbo or some twist style motion.
- The twisting motion or limbo should be followed by exploding up again with both the hands up in the air.
- Cross your hands and place them on the knees and jump to the rhythm of the music.
- This involves doing the jazzy jump by jumping once to your left then to your right.
- After the jumping is over, freeze in a posture which will exemplify your style.
